POMONA PARK, Fla. — William and Carol Rothermel, of Pomona Park, Fla. and formerly of Milton, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 23 at Paradise United Church of Christ, Milton, where they renewed their vows. Pastor Douglas Schader performed the service.
They were married on June 24, 1962.
A dinner for family and friends was held at Goodwil’s restaurant in Montandon. A cake was made and served by nieces and nephews of the couple.
As a gift from their children and grandchildren, they were given a surprise trip to the River View Bed and Breakfast in Sunbury.
The couple graduated with the Milton Area High School Class of 1961. Mr. Rothermel owns and operates a barber shop in East Palatka, Fla.
They are the parents of three children, Wendy Harris, Sherry King, and Adam Rothermel, all of Florida. There are also six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
