SELINSGROVE — Mr. and Mrs. Marty Pope celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party hosted by their children at the home of Brian and Lucille Pope, with family and close friends present.
They were married June 22, 1962, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Freeburg, by the Rev. Sterlen S. Shaeffer.
Mrs. Pope, the former Pauline Lauver, is the daughter of the late Eleanor and Paul Lauver.
Her husband is the son of the late Michael Pope and Gertrude Onderdonk.
Marty is a retired Nationwide Insurance agent. He enjoys golf and hunting. Both he and Pauline enjoy spending time with their family and especially attending sporting events their grandchildren participate in.
They are the parents three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Sharon Pope, Curtis and Danette Pope, and Brian and Lucille Pope, all of Selinsgrove. There are also six grandchildren, Derek, Mallory, and Mason Pope, Brandon and wife Krista Pope, Mitchell Pope, and Ryan and wife Kara Rumberger; one great-grandson, Gavin Pope, and one granddaughter, due in October.
