MIDDLEBURG — Mr. and Mrs. Dave Meiser, of Middleburg, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently with a vow renewal party, hosted by their family. The Rev. Charles Melton officiated the ceremony. A party was held at the Freeburg Community Center, formerly the Freeburg-Washington Elementary School, where the couple held their wedding reception 50 years ago. There were over 70 guests in attendance including the majority of their original wedding party.
They were married June 9, 1962, in the Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Charles Jester.
The couple is very active in the Church of the Nazarene and during the same weekend they both received the high honor of Distinguished Service Award for over 50 years of service to the church from the Nazarene Mission International.
Mrs. Meiser, the former Cathy Wagner, is the daughter of the late Merrill and Lena Wagner.
Her husband is the son of the late Lewis and Regina Meiser.
They are the parents of two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott Meiser and Tim and Judy Meiser. There is also one granddaughter, Linley and her fiance Jonathan.
