LEWISBURG — Barbara and Gibson Loyd, of Lewisburg, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Nicole L. Loyd, to Dr. Douglas B. Stairs, son of Charleene Daniels, of Clarksville, Tenn., and the late Clarence Stairs.
The bride-to-be is a 1991 graduate of Lewisburg Area High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1995 and her master’s degree in 1999 from Bucknell University, and her Ph.D. in higher education in 2005 from the University of Virginia. She is the dean of students at Moravian College, Bethlehem.
Her fiance is a 1996 graduate of Thomas Jefferson University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in cytotechnology. He received his Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. He is employed as a research associate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia.
A wedding is planned for July 17.
