WINFIELD — The residence of William and Shirley Doyle, the bride’s grandparents, was the setting for the ceremony uniting Summer Lynn Ermert and Richard Allen Burkett Sr. in marriage. Pastor Mark Gittens performed the vows joining the couple at 2 p.m. Aug. 1.
The bride is the daughter of Marie and James Ermert, of Sunbury. The bridegroom is the son of William Hawkins, of York.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Nicole Boone, of Paxinos, to be her matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Nalida Alequin, of Sunbury.
Matthew Kitts, of York, was best man. Nate Burgos, of Sunbury, served as groomsman. The couple’s son, Richard Allen Burkett Jr., was the ring bearer.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Richard Butler, of Sunbury.
A reception for 80 guests followed the ceremony at the Doyle home
After a honeymoon to Atlantic City, the couple are residing in Sunbury.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of SusQ Cyber Charter School. The bridegroom is a 2007 of Shikellamy High School. He is employed at the Weis Warehouse in Milton.
