SELINSGROVE — Carole and Ronald Young, of Selinsgrove, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today when they will renew their vows at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Lewisburg. The Rev. Peter Harer will conduct the service.
A dinner for 35 guests, hosted by their children will follow at La Primavera, Lewisburg. A family picnic was held at their home on Sept. 5.
The couple were married Sept. 6, 1959, by the Rev. Dorland Russett at Shrub Oak Methodist Church, Shrub Oak, N.Y.
Mrs. Young is the former Carole Lea Wood, daughter of the late Reta and George Wood. She retired from the Manor at Penn Lutheran, where she was a CNA.
Mr. Young is the son of the late Florence and Joseph Young. He is a retired executive at Weis Markets, Inc.
They are the parents of four children, Sharon Lea Mead, of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; Cheryl Lynn DeSiena, of Northumberland; Anna Marie Baker, of Middlegrove, N.Y. and Robert Joseph Young, of Shamokin Dam.
They have five grandchildren: Ryan, Leanna, Matthew, Robert J. Jr. and Andy, and two great-grandchildren, Tylor and Hannah.
