JOHNSTOWN — The United Methodist Church was the setting for the ceremony joining Elizabeth Katherine Turner and Michael Eugene Watson II in marriage. The bridegroom’s father performed the vows at 7 p.m. Jan. 2. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. Beverly Spore, of Cochranton, and Robert Turner, of Stoystown. The bridegroom is the son of Dinah Watson, of Winfield and the Rev. Michael Watson, of Roanoke, Va.
The bride chose Julie Vasilko, of Johnstown, to be her honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Shaylee Edwards, of Virginia and Laura Sweltz, of Germany.
Arjun Srivastava, of Selinsgrove, was best man. Groomsmen were John Tomko, of Montoursville, the bridegroom’s stepbrother, and Mark Turner, of Stoystown, the bride’s brother.
Sherri Watson-Kamplain, the bridegroom’s sister was the soloist.
A reception for 90 guests was held at the Holiday Inn, Johnstown. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by Ed Tomko and Dinah Watson, the bridegroom’s mother and stepfather, was held in the same location.
Following a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, the couple are residing in Townville, until the bridegroom reports for his duties in the Air Force.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Richland High School, Johnstown. She is a 2009 graduate of Penn State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in crime, law and justice. She plans to enter law school. She is employed at the YMCA in Meadville.
The bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and a 2009 graduate of Penn State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. He is serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the Air Force working in research and development at Holloman Air Force Base, Alamogordo, N.M.
