NEW COLUMBIA — Sharon and Ernest Erdley were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party given by their children and grandchildren. Forty guests attended the festivities at the Lewisburg Armory. The couple were married in West Milton on Dec. 12, 1959, by the Rev. Ernest Bottiger.
Mrs. Erdley is the former Sharon Hook, daughter of the late Mary and Richard Hook.
She is retired from the Temperance House, Lewisburg.
Mr. Erdley is the son of the late Kathryn and Warren Erdley.
He is retired from American Home Foods.
The couple have three sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy and Annette Erdley, of Lewisburg, Mike, of Kansas and Keith, of Montandon, and one daughter, Donna and her husband Larry Engel, of Williamsport. They have five grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer, of Kansas, Nathan and Shane Engel, of Williamsport, Melissa Erdley, of Lewisburg, and one granddaughter, Tiffany M. Erdley, who passed away in 1993 at the age of seven. They also have three great-grandchildren, Joshua and Kendra Erdley, and Joseph Spencer, all of Kansas.
