SUNBURY — Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Zerbe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at the Sunbury Social Club on May 30. The couple were married June 5, 1960, at the historic San Onofre Chapel, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
The party was hosted by their children, with their grandchildren, Jacob and Jade McCarthy and Matthew and Bryce Zerbe serving as disc jockeys and narrators. More than 80 guests attended the joyful celebration, coming from California, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Mrs. Zerbe is the former Caroline Eyster, daughter of the late Russell and Elsie Eyster. She is a 1958 graduate of Sunbury High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the First National Bank, W.T. Grant’s, and Bob Price State Farm Insurance.
Edward is the son of the late Russell and Emily Zerbe. He is a 1957 graduate of Northumberland High School. He is a retired Marine Corps captain, and is retired from Paulsen Wire Rope.
The Zerbes have four children, Edward II, Elaine Billman, Marlene Poff and Nadine McCarthy.
