LEWISBURG — Evangelical Community Hospital recently closed the books on fiscal year 2010, and ended its fundraising efforts for the year on a high note.
The hospital received more than $9.5 million in private and government grant commitments, and the Annual Fund exceeded its goal, raising more than $935,000, the single largest fundraising year on record.
“Evangelical has enjoyed an unprecedented level of support from the community,” Director of Development Joanne Troutman said. “We are incredibly grateful for and humbled by the outpouring of support, especially in the current economic climate.” Employee and board support for the hospital’s fundraising efforts are particularly notable.
One hundred percent of the executive operating team and board of directors, and 97 percent of the management staff at the hospital made commitments during the 2010 fiscal year.
“Employees alone contributed more than ever before to Evan. That really speaks to the respect my colleagues have for the Hospital. Caring for patients and their families, seeing each day the difference contributions make, our employees really value that,” Troutman noted.
The comprehensive fundraising campaign, Evangelical and You, a campaign supporting the Surgical and Cardiovas cular Expansion project, the Annual Fund and endowment, ended the year with nearly $6.3 million in private commitments toward its $7.5 million goal.
“We especially want to recognize the community members who have helped us achieve these impressive numbers,” vice president—community relations and chief development officer Tami Radecke commented. “Lynn and Luann Sholley chaired our Annual Fund campaign this year and were wonderful advocates for the Hospital, as they have been for years.” Radecke also recognized board members Roger Haddon and Bob Gronlund and emeritus board member Jim Apple who have taken the lead for the Evangelical & You campaign, which is expected to conclude December 2011.
“We would not be nearly as fortunate as we have been were it not for these important volunteers,” Radecke said.
