Typical conversation between 16-year-olds:
"OMG! That movie looks so good! I can't wait to go see it. When does it hit theaters?"
"This Friday!"
"Awesome we should go!"
"We can't, it's rated R. "

Why do you have to be 17 to get tickets to a R-rated movie and 21 to buy them for someone else? If a 17-year-old can go to Wal-Mart and buy a R-rated movie and watch it at home with their underage friends, why can't they buy tickets for their underage friends? If at 16 and a half you can drive, which could lead to death, why can't you watch a R-rated movie? If you are charged extra for the "adult ticket" you should be able to watch whatever movie you want.
I believe the age for buying R-rated tickets should be lowered to 16.
