They all do it


— The recent editorial complaining about Congressman Carney’s mass mailings is an empty argument. Nearly all legislators send flyers to their constituents to keep us informed of their efforts in Harrisburg, Washington, etc.

Perhaps, as your column suggests, many people pitch these documents unread but that is no reason to not send them.

Some may choose to live in ignorance, but the rest of us still want to know what the hired help is doing.

I live in the 10th Congressional District and I’ve not seen a flyer from Carney this year.

However, when I lived in Middleburg, I regularly received flyers from State Representative Russ Fairchild — and Middleburg is not part of Russ’s district.

Talk about wasteful spending!
