INDIANA, Pa. — Seven Indiana University of Pennsylvania students have been displaced by a fire that destroyed the off-campus apartment building where they lived.
Nobody was hurt in the fire reported shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday in the borough about 45 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
None of the students were home at the time and no firefighters were hurt.
Indiana Fire Association Chief Charles Kelly says the former garage was renovated to house three apartments, all of which were severely damaged in the fire.
A state police fire marshal has been investigating the cause of the fire, but a barracks spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment on his findings Tuesday.
The state-owned university is helping the students find other housing.
