DANVILLE —
A Selinsgrove Area High School junior and star football player, who was critically injured in a car crash after his school’s prom on May 22, has been released from Geisinger Medical Center, said a nursing supervisor Tuesday night.
Seventeen-year-old Seth Lauver’s condition had improved to fair after he spent nearly a week on the critical list. Alexandra Mullen, Lauver’s 17-year-old passenger and prom date, still was listed in critical condition Tuesday night.
Speaking to The Daily Item on Friday, Seth’s mother, Roxanne Lauver, said, “He is soon to be transferred to a spinal cord injury rehabilitation facility.”
That has apparently occurred, according to Seth’s football coach, Dave Hess.
“I knew he was going to be transferred to a rehab center in Philadelphia,” he said. “I just didn’t know when it was going to happen.”
Hess said he had spoken to Seth recently.
“I can’t really speak to his mental condition now,” Hess said. “That’s hard to say. But I do know this. He is a fighter.
He is taking this on as he would any challenge in life. He’s a great kid. He’s a tough kid. He has a lot of people in his corner who will be there for him if he needs help.”
Lauver, a Selinsgrove football star, scored the winning touchdown to help the Seals team win its first-ever championship title in December.
