MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS — The theft of nearly $1,100 in cash, coins and various items from Snyder County businesses earlier this week is not the first of its kind committed by alleged burglar Vincent Lloyd Harp, of 1009 Quarry Road, Mount Pleasant Mills.
The 23-year-old faced burglary charges in Perry and Juniata counties in 2006 and 2011.
Since 2001, his offenses have also included harassment, criminal mischief, forgery, writing bad checks, retail theft, disorderly conduct, and on Dec. 4, 2010, illegal possession of a firearm, and the illegal possession of game or wildlife on Dec. 12, 2003.
Harp was recently charged with four burglaries and thefts, occurring between Sunday and Wednesday, at the following businesses:
- Becks Garage, 1393 Fremont Road, Perry Township: $143, four tires, and a 19-inch flatscreen television.
- Meiserville Inn, Route 104, Chapman Township: Onkyo stereo receiver, Sony stereo receiver, $70 in quarters, $40 in dollar bills.
- Cruisers Cafe, Route 104, Perry Township: $310, one bag of chicken, one bag of chicken wings, one bag of cauliflower, and damaged a rear door leading to the basement.
- Original Italian Pizza, West Perry Township: change box containing $500, 20 to 30 gift cards, and damaged a side door.
Police say the items stolen may include more than those listed in the criminal complaint.
On Tuesday, troopers from the Lewistown barracks went to Harp’s residence for a separate burglary investigation, and while outside, observed a stolen crossbow in Harp’s vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for Harp’s residence and police found items similar to those reported stolen, as well as two marijuana pipes and two bags containing suspect marijuana.
Harp’s girlfriend, Keisha Arnold, admitted to police that she and her cousin, Kayla Arnold, and her cousin’s boyfriend, Chuck Henderson, committed the burglaries, along with Harp.
Harp is currently being held at Snyder County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 14 at District Judge Willis Savidge’s office in Middleburg.
