NORTHUMBERLAND — A borough man faces a charge of open lewdness after allegedly masturbating within view of two girls, authorities said.
Police in Northumberland said the incident happened just before 8 a.m. May 29.
Chief Tim Fink said he was monitoring the C.W. Rice Middle School that morning when two girls approached his vehicle to tell him that they saw a man, later identified as Michael Brian Young, 51, of 425 Fourth St., standing in the window of his home, facing them, with one hand on the window and the other at his midsection.
Fink said the girls told him they believed Young was masturbating.
When Fink approached the home, he said he saw Young still standing in the window.
Upon questioning, Fink said Young admitted that he was masturbating in the window. Fink added that a check of police records indicated that Young faced similar charges in 1992.
He was charged with one count of open lewdness.
His preliminary hearing is set for 1:45 p.m. July 15 before District Judge Robert Bolton.
