Man jailed in sex investigation

MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS — A 40-year-old Selinsgrove man has been charged with sexually abusing a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old after a flash drive was found containing approximately 40 obscene photos.

Todd Roy Sauer, of 288 Middlecreek Road, Selinsgrove, reportedly told state police that he had sexual contact about 20 times with the 6-year-old girl since she was 3. According to court documents, Sauer claimed all of the sexual contact occurred at the home of a Perry Township woman. He would allegedly go into the child’s bedroom after the woman went to bed, partially undress the girl, and then take pictures, he said.

The woman told police she discovered a flash drive belonging to Sauer as she was using her personal computer.

The woman gained access to the files by inputting a password that Sauer often used.

One of the photos, she said, was of Sauer and a boy, approximately 3 years old, without their clothes on. Other photos were of Sauer and the 6-year-old girl, whom the woman knew.

The woman then called Sauer’s mother and went to her home. After they viewed some of the photos together, Sauer’s mother called her son and asked him to come there.

An argument ensued between the Perry Township woman and Sauer, the complaint states, and Sauer allegedly smashed the flash drive with a brick.

The woman then picked up the pieces and brought them to the police station.

Several state police troopers went to the woman’s residence to seize any items, including electronic and computer equipment, which may be relevant to the case. They found Sauers at the home and took him into custody.

Selinsgrove state police trooper could not comment on the relationship among Sauer, the woman or the children, or how much evidence was recovered.

Sauer is being held at Snyder County Jail.

A hearing scheduled for Tuesday was postponed. A new date for the hearing has not yet been set.
