Four hurt in Routes 11-15 crash

HUMMELS WHARF — Four people, including a child, were taken by ambulance to a hospital late Wednesday night following a two-vehicle crash along Routes 11-15 near Sheetz in Hummels Wharf.

Lee A. Rice, 56, of Selinsgrove, said he was driving his Dodge pickup truck north on Routes 11-15 when a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled out into the intersection with Ninth Street at Sheetz shortly after 10 p.m.

Rice was not injured, nor was the other male driver, who was being interviewed at press time by state police at Selinsgrove.

Four passengers from the Chevrolet pickup were taken to the hospital, according to a firefighter at the scene. One adult and child were taken for apparent observation, the firefighter said.

Northbound lanes of Routes 11-15 from Ninth Street to Lenker Avenue were closed as firefighters cleared the scene.

No other information was available at press time.

Hummels Wharf Fire Company and Dauntless Hook & Ladder Company, Selinsgrove, responded to the scene.
