Local candidates file nomination petitions in Montour County

DANVILLE - While there are four Danville Borough Council four-terms up for re-election this year, only three candidates filed nominating petitions for the offices.

They are Republican incumbent Collins Stump of 114 W. Mahoning St. in the 1st Ward, Republican incumbent Betty Ann Moyer of 438 Mill St. in the 3rd Ward and Bruce Wray, a Democrat from 114 Mowery St. in the 2nd Ward.

Also filing petitions for Danvllle were: Democrat Mary Ann Davis, judge of election in 1st Ward; Republican Calvin Dean Martin for judge of election in 2nd Ward; Democrat Donna McKenna for judge of election in 3rd Ward; and Democrat Helen Lynn for judge of election in 4th Ward. Inspector of election candidates are Democrat Barbara Bordner and Republican Elaine Mussich,1st Ward; Republican Amy Raspaldo-Hein, 2nd Ward; Democrat Alice Malich and Republican Phyllis Slocum, 3rd Ward; Democrat Burretll Metzger, 4th Ward.

In Washingtonville, no one filed for two four-year council terms and for two two-year council terms. No one filed for a tax collector position as well as three auditors’ posts and a constable’s office. Republican Nancy Yeich is running for judge of election and Republican Shirley Reigle is running for inspector of election.

Filing petitions for township offices are:

Anthony: Six-year supervisor’s term: Republican Linda Sellers; two-year supervisor: Richard Hess; tax collector, auditor, constable, judge of election, inspector of election, none.

Cooper: Six-year supervisor, tax collector, auditor, constable, none. Judge of election: Democrat Eleanor Sones; inspector of election: Republican Alice Wilson, Democrat Donna Mae Fry.

Derry: Six-year supervisor: Democrat Gregory Molter; auditor: Theresa Molter; constable, none; judge of election: Republican Carole Gavoni; inspector of election: Republican Phyllis Wissler, Democrat Rodger Bower.

Liberty: Six-year supervisor, two auditors, constable, none; judge of election: Republican Robin Worhach; inspector of election: Democrat Martha Reedy, Republican Jean Hummel.

Limestone: Six-year supervisor: Democrat Harry Milheim; tax collector: Republican Alice Laidacker; auditor, constable, none; judge of election: Democrat Bessie Whitmoyer; inspector of election: Democrat John Wolfe, Republican Ruth Appleman.

Mahoning: Six-year supervisor: Republican Cary Breech, Democrat Christine DeLong; auditor: Democrat Althea Wertman; constable, none. Judge of election Mahoning I: Republican Bradford Bason; Mahoning II: Republican John Shaibley; Mahoning I inspector of election: Republican Barbara Cooper, Democrat Donna Quiery; Mahoning II inspector: Democrat Nancy Riley, Republican Lois Gass.

Mayberry: Six-year supervisor, auditor, constable, none. Judge of election: Democrat Patricia Fahringer; inspector: Democrat Nancy Campbell, Republican Suzanne Woodruff.

Valley: Six-year supervisor: Republican Jdy Achy; auditor, constable, none. Judge of election: Republican Joseph McGarvey; inspector: Democrat Ann Diener, Republican Cynthia Weaver.

West Hemlock: Six-year supervisor: Republican Michael Yeich; Democrat Jay Stine; tax collector, constable, auditor, none. Judge of election: Democrat Dorothy Minnick; inspector: Democrat Penny Mausteller, Republican Barbara Tworkoski.
