Serious injuries reported in ATV crash near Trevorton

TREVORTON -- An ATV rider suffered serious injuries in an accident Monday afternoon in Zerbe Townshp.

Trevorton Fire Chief Edwin Reed assisted EMTs and other rescue personnel at the "Flats" off Gap Road.

Zerbe Township Patrolman Sean Packard interviewed a family member of the injured rider, David Hartman, of Harrisburg.

Police said David Hartman attempted to ride up the steep incline when the ATV overturned.

He was taken to Shamokin Area Community for treatment.

Police said the Hartmans had a permit to ride on the private coal lands east of Trevorton.
