MIDDLEBURG — A McClure man was sentenced in Snyder County Court to 7 1/2 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Dennis W. Hood, 61, was arrested last March on 35 counts, including statutory sexual assault, indecent sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.
He was accused of repeatedly molesting the girl when she was 14 and 15.
Hood pleaded guilty in October to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child younger than 16. The other charges were dropped.
He was represented by Williamsport attorney Peter Campana.
He was sentenced Wednesday by President Judge Harold F. Woelfel Jr. to serve a 90-month to 20-year prison sentence.
Hood also was found to be a sexually violent predator and is required under the state Megan’s Law to register his address for the rest of his life after release from prison.
