DORNSIFE -- A 71-year old Dornsife area man was killed Friday evening when he lost control of his car on Dornsife Mountain Road in Little Mahanoy Township and crashed into a tree.
Guy J. Snyder Jr., of RD1 Dornsife, was traveling south in his 1998 Lincoln sedan when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve, causing the car to veer into the tree, state police at Stonington said.
Snyder was not wearing a seat belt.
He was pronounced dead at 7:10 by Northumberland County Coroner Barry Leisenring.
Assisting at the scene were fire and rescue personnel from Dalmatia, Herndon, Trevorton and Coal Township.
