SELINSGROVE -- An 88-year-old Selinsgrove man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:01 a.m. Tuesday on Route 522 in Penn Township, Snyder County, state police at Selinsgrove said.
Marlin G. Fetter, of 4207 Route 204, was the front-seat passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended, police said. He was pronounced dead in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Trooper William Gangloff said the accident occurred as a 1991 Ford Explorer driven by Margaret E. Krouse, 78, of 3238 Salem Road, and a 2001 Chevrolet Prizm driven by Irene L. Fetter, 82, also of 4207 Route 204, were southbound on Route 522. The Fetter vehicle was attempting to turn left onto Miller Farm Road when Krouse rear-ended it, he said.
All three were wearing seat belts, Gangloff said. Neither driver was injured.
The Ford Explorer was disabled, he said.
Fetter is the 24th person to die on Valley roads this year. Twenty people died last year.
