SELINGROVE — Three women inmates at the Snyder County jail tested positive for morphine on Aug. 1, according to a release issued by state police at Selinsgrove on Monday evening.
Upon getting the results of the random test, prison officials notified police, who are investigating.
Commissioner Malcolm Derk said he was notified about the tests at a briefing on Thursday, but could not release further information. Warden Ruth Rush was not available for comment.
The Snyder County Prison can house 150 inmates. The institution includes two secure housing areas, and three dormitory-type housing units.
