WHITEHALL – Fire destroyed a workshop about 2 p.m. Friday near the village of Whitehall in Montour County at a farm operated by Jacob Hostetler, which is owned by his father in North Carolina.
Firefighters from Washingtonville, Valley Township, Danville, Mahoning Township, all in Montour County; Millville in Columbia County; and the Warrior Run and Milton fire departments in Northumberland County are credited with saving the nearby barn and other buildings along Whitehall Road.
Also responding were members of the Danville Ambulance Service and Danville fire police.
A state police fire marshal also responded to the scene. No cause was available.
Firefighters shuttled water from the nearby Montour Preserve, owned by PPL.
