SUNBURY -- Suspects fleeing from a harassment investigation led a Sunbury patrolman on a foot chase across Market Street rooftops late Thursday night.
City police officer Bradley Hare arrived at the 100 block of South Third Street after receiving a harassment call. When he arrived, Corey Dreese, 19, of 39½ Catawissa Ave., Sunbury, and an unidentified girl, 17, of Watsontown, began running toward Market Street.
At the 500 block, they ran up a stairwell onto a rooftop. Being chased by Hare, they leaped to another rooftop, and broke into an apartment before finally stopping to hide on the rooftop.
Sunbury police were assisted by Shamokin Dam, Point Township and Northumberland police in setting up a perimeter on the 500 block of Market Street.
The two suspects were caught at 10:22 p.m. after a building search conducted by police and the Sunbury Police Department K-9 Unit.
Dreese was charged with three counts of criminal trespass, public drunkenness and underage drinking and harassment.
The female will be charged through Northumberland County Juvenile Court.
