HUMMELS WHARF -- An early Monday morning fire heavily damaged a home at 57 River Road in the Shady Nook area of Hummel's Wharf.
Snyder County firefighters responded to the structure fire at about 5 a.m. Monday.
Fire officials said smoke could be seen as they responded to the area.
Firefighters from the Dauntless Hook and Ladder Company in Selinsgrove, Hummels Wharf Fire Company and Shamokin Dam Fire Company responded.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. A state police fire marshal is expected to visit the scene on Tuesday.
