MIDDLEBURG — Charges brought last week in the investigation into the death of Bonnie J. Snook mark the fourth active homicide case in the Valley.
Two active cases with charges — including the Snook case — are in Snyder County and two in Union County. Northumberland County also has two active homicide cases, though neither have had charges filed.
Michael Piecuch, Snyder County district attorney, said the pace of an investigation and charges depend on the case.
“Every investigation is different,” he said. “They’re hard to compare. Every investigation has its own twists and turns.”
In Snyder County, charges have been filed against Jennifer and Josh Snook in connection with the Feb. 17 stabbing death of his grandmother, Bonnie J. Snook.
Bonnie’s husband, Dale W. Snook, 72, was injured with a laceration on his arm, according to court documents.
Joshua and Jennifer Snook were seen driving away from the home by police, who stopped their vehicle about a mile away, court records said.
