STATE COLLEGE — Two candidates have announced they are seeking spots on Penn State University's board of trustees.
The Centre Daily Times reports former Penn State trustee Ben Novak and 2002 Penn State graduate Ryan Bagwell are both seeking spots on the board this year. Alumni can nominate candidates through Monday.
Novak is a 1965 graduate who served as an alumni-elected trustee from 1998 to 2010. He finished sixth last year in a race that saw 86 candidates vying for three seats. He's been a vocal critic of the university's response to the sex-abuse scandal involving former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
Bagwell ran last year, too. He says he wants to bring new ideas, reform and transparency to the board.
