Suspect ID'd in hit-run buggy crash

By Rick Dandes

MILTON — State police at Milton said they have identified the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that injured four people in a horse-drawn buggy Sunday night in Delaware Township, northern Northumberland County.

Troopers say they will not release the name of the suspect, the alleged driver of a van, until charges have been filed.

No arraignment was expected Monday, trooper Matthew Burrows said.

The accident occurred at 7:39 p.m., when a horse-drawn buggy traveling east on Route 54 was hit from behind by the van. The buggy was knocked off the road onto its side, injuring four people, including two children. The van then fled the scene.

A 4-year-old girl suffered a moderate injury and a 2-year-old girl had a minor injury in the crash, which occurred about a half-mile west of Seagrave Road.

The driver of the horse and buggy, Levi Glick, 27, and another passenger, Mattie Glick, 24, also had minor injuries. All occupants of the buggy were from Delaware Township. They were taken to Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where they were treated and released.

Glick’s horse was uninjured.
