Buggy hit by van; 4 injured

By Diane Petryk

MILTON — State police are looking for a white, older model van that hit a horse-drawn buggy on Route 54 on Sunday, injuring four, including two children, and fled the scene.

The driver of the van was last seen at about 7:39 p.m. traveling east of Route 54 toward Turbotville.

A 4-year-old girl suffered a moderate injury and a 2-year-old girl had a minor injury in the crash about a half-mile west of Seagrave Road in Delaware Township.

The driver of the horse and buggy, Levi Glick, 27, and passenger, Mattie Glick, 24, also had minor injuries. All in the buggy were from Delaware Township. All were taken Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, where they were treated and released.

Glick’s horse was uninjured.

Trooper Roger Riddell said the van is believed to have minor to moderate damage to its front passenger side in the area of the headlight where it hit the rear of the buggy, causing it to travel off the right side of the road and fall on its side.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at (570) 524-2662.
