SUNBURY — The Needy Family Fund, sponsored by The Daily Item, Sunbury Broadcasting Corp. and Susquehanna Bank, in cooperation with Salvation Army citadels in Sunbury and Milton, raises money to help the less fortunate in the Valley during the holidays.
Valley residents and businesses stepped up during the recent recession, and gave $85,902.50, allowing the Needy Family Fund to meet its $75,000 goal and triggering a $25,000 challenge grant from the Degenstein Foundation, Sunbury.
Today’s balance stands at $110,902.50.
