SELINSGROVE -- An employee at the Manor at Penn Village, a nursing home in Selinsgrove, was caught with a jar of marijuana in her car, after a co-worker heard of the stash and turned her in, according to state police at Selinsgrove.
Charges of drug possession and disorderly conduct were filed against Lynn Beachel, 46, of 315 E. Bough St.
Police got the tip on Nov. 15 when Patty M. Kratzer, who also works at the Manor at Penn Village, said Beachel told her she had marijuana, which Beachel’s boyfriend allegedly gave her for her son.
When confronted by police, according to court documents, Beachel at first denied she had pot, then changed her mind and handed over a baggie of marijuana.
After police got Beachel to sign a waiver allowing them to search her car, they found a jar with marijuana in her purse. Beachel claimed she didn’t know where the pot came from, telling police she “seldom looks into her purse.”
Beachel also denied the baggie of marijuana came from her boyfriend and that she had intended to give it to her son.
She is scheduled to appear before District Judge John T. Robinson, of Selinsgrove, at an unspecified date.
