Driver killed during police chase

BLOOMSBURG — A 22-year-old Stillwater man was killed Thursday afternoon when he was partially ejected from his truck, which crashed and rolled over after being chased by state police, Bloomsburg.

Police said that Brandon Roeder, driving a 1984 Chevrolet S-10 pick up truck, was driving erratically north on route 487, in Stillwater Borough, Columbia County. When troopers attempted to stop the truck, Roeder continued traveling north, at speeds up to 60 mph.

When he drove onto a dirt portion of Kline Road, he lost control of his car, which rolled over several times, partially ejecting Roeder.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbia County coroner Ron Taylor.

An investigation into the crash continues.
