HUMMELS WHARF — A Coal Township man has been charged with stealing $5,000 in vehicle parts and labor from a Snyder County department store.
Former Sears Department Store employee Brian John Burke, 36, of 1440 Hemlock St., Coal Township, allegedly had Sears auto mechanics put several parts, including tires, tie rods, spark plugs and axles, on two of his cars between April and October without paying for the items or the labor, state police at Selinsgrove said.

Burke admitted to police to stealing about $2,000 in parts and labor while employed at the store, court records said.
He was charged with third-degree felony theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft of services.
A preliminary hearing for Burke is scheduled for Dec. 10 in the office of District Judge John T. Robinson, Selinsgrove.
