RICHFIELD – Although a fire at the south end of Richfield is not considered suspicious, a state police fire marshal has been called to investigate.
The blaze between 7 and 7:30 a.m. today destroyed a small barn with an attachment and the contents, according to fire officials.
Owner Bradley Shaffer used the barn to store furniture. No damage estimate was available.
Fire police closed Route 35 as firefighters battled the blaze. The road is now open to traffic.
About 40 firefighters from Snyder and Juniata counties responded.
