SUNBURY — City police have filed more charges against the man they allege helped lead a burglary ring that robbed homeowners of up to $200,000 worth of possessions.
Michael Anthony Cellitti, 50, of 841 N. Fifth St., is facing additional misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and a felony charge stemming from his alleged illegal ownership of firearms as a convicted felon.
According to court documents filed in the office of District Judge Carl Rice, Cellitti has been charged with two counts of receiving stolen property in regard to the theft of power tools from a construction site at Sunbury Community Hospital in December 2008 and a flat-screen television from a Northumberland home in June.
The television was found in Cellitti’s living room, police said, and the tools allegedly were found in his garage.
Cellitti also is facing a felony charge for illegally owning firearms.
The charges stem from the August execution of a search warrant at the 1038 Reagan St. home owned by Michael Cellitti and rented by Steven Naugle and Kristi Cellitti, Michael Cellitti’s daughter.
Lytle said police were in search of stolen guns that were reported to have been purchased by Cellitti. The search allegedly turned up a Ruger rifle and a Winchester shotgun, both registered to Cellitti.
Cellitti was illegally in possession of the firearms, Lytle said, because of a decades-old felony burglary conviction.
Cellitti has been free from the Northumberland County Prison on $100,000 bail. There was no word from the county district attorney’s office about whether the county would seek to revoke Cellitti’s bail.
Cellitti is facing a slew of charges in connection with a two-county burglary ring police said he led with Mark Lee Brumbach, 25, of 325 Chestnut St., Sunbury. Officers said the ring operated out of M&J; Cash Converter, 367-369 Market St., Sunbury.
The two were co-owners of the business, which was shut down by police in July.

West Milton man arraigned on robbery charges
