SELINSGROVE — A Selinsgrove man accused of killing a motorcyclist last July while under the influence of alcohol waived the charges to trial in Snyder County Court.
James E. Mottern, 42, with Lewisburg attorney Graham Showalter at his side, appeared briefly before District Judge John T. Robinson Thursday to formally waive charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving.
State police at Selinsgrove said Mottern was driving drunk on Route 35 July 9 when he crashed his Nissan pickup truck into a Suzuki motorcycle driven by Jason M. Blair, 34, of Port Trevorton.
Blair was thrown from the bike onto the pavement and was killed.
Mottern was not injured in the crash.
