SUNBURY —
Two city residents were apprehended Friday after police said they received calls that a man was beating a woman with a wooden post on Susquehanna Avenue.
Point Township police arrived on the scene first and said they witnessed the man hitting the woman with the wooden makeshift club.
Sunbury police also arrived to the scene and took Tyshawn Seabrook, 18, and Jazmyne Payne, 22, were taken into custody.
Police said they also discovered a knife at the scene but details of the incident were being sorted out as of deadline.
Payne refused medical assistance at first and then was transported to Sunbury Community Hospital, no condition was available as of deadline.
Seabrook was being questioned by police and no charges have been filed as deadline.
Police were not clear as to if the pair were going to be charged at all.
The incident is under investigation, Sunbury Police Chief Steve Mazzeo said.
