DANVILLE - A Mount Carmel man had been upgraded from critical to serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center two weeks after a crash in Mount Carmel Township which killed two men.
Glenn Meredith, 52, of Mount Carmel, was driving a Dodge pickup along Route
54 near Marion Heights when his vehicle slammed into a GMC Envoy. Meredith was taken by helicopter to Geisinger from the scene and is now listed in serious condition, one step below critical, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Pronounced dead at the scene at 1:15 p.m. by Northumberland County Chief Deputy Coroner Jim Gotlob were the two passengers in the Envoy, Charles D.
Carl, 92, and Ronald E. Matejick, 76, both of Gordon, Schuylkill County.
The investigation into the crash continues. Mount Carmel Township police could not be reached for comment today.
