MILTON — The Central PA Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Business & Education Partnership Award will soon be given to four seniors during graduation and award ceremonies.
Tabitha Beaver, communication & education coordinator for the chamber, said students are selected based on academic achievement, community involvement, participation in any of the Central PA Chamber Business & Education Partnership-sponsored events and post-graduation plans.
“This award shows that hard work truly does pay off,” said Beaver. “Students typically have used the money for gas to commute to college from home, or they’ve used it to buy books or computers.”
The award includes a commemorative plaque and $500 check. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. April 16. Beaver said that students can ask for an application packet at their high school office, guidance counselor’s office or call the chamber directly at 742-7341.
The award will be given to one student from each member school who has submitted the application. Participating schools are Meadowbrook Christian School, Milton, Warrior Run and Watsontown Christian Academy.
The Business & Education Partnership holds activities to educate, equip, encourage and engage students. Activities include an annual career fair, career exploration, career speakers, job shadowing, School Counts!, AP/NOCTI Awards and the Business & Education Partnership Award.
