MONTOURSVILLE -- Eastern Industries Inc., of Winfield, will start work on a 3.4-mile resurfacing project along a section of Route 225 in Northumberland County on Tuesday.
PennDOT spokesman Rick Mason said work will begin approximately 1.4 miles north of the intersection with State Route 3004 (Lower Road) in Little Mahanoy Township and end near the intersection with Route 890 in Trevorton.
Traffic in the work zone will be restricted to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flaggers directing traffic flow. Motorists are advised to pay full attention to their driving when approaching and passing through the work zone.
The project includes roadway base repairs and two new layers of blacktop; the existing pavement in Trevorton will be milled first. In addition, two bridges will have membrane waterproofing placed on their decks, one ADA-compliant curb ramp will be constructed, driveway tie-ins will be done and new pavement markings will be placed.
The project cost is $980,000 and is scheduled for completion by mid-November.
