— SUNBURY - Sunbury Community Hospital will host its bi-monthly drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
The blood drive will be located at the main entrance to the hospital.
Donors can schedule times by going online to: redcrossblood.org and enter the zip code 17801, then clicking on the Sunbury Hospital collection site link. Registrations also can be completed by contacting Bruce Marion at the hospital by calling: 286-3372.
According to a recent announcement by the American Red Cross, type O negative blood donors are urgently needed. As a donor with O negative blood, you are a universal donor. Your blood can be transfused to nearly anyone, and because of this, your blood type is often in demand. Currently patient demand for type O negative blood is outpacing our donations, creating an urgent need situation.
