MILTON — A pretrial conference has been scheduled for a Middleburg area man facing drug charges and allegations of threats of violence at the Priestley Elementary School.
Jeremy Michael Church, 37, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday in the case, stemming from a Dec. 20 incident in which Church allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, Valerie Eisenhuth, and their child, a student at the Priestley school in Northumberland.
Church, according to a statement to police by Eisenhuth, referenced the Dec. 14 Newtown, Conn., school shooting in a series of threats she claims he made to her over the phone.
A pretrial conference has been scheduled for 1:15 p.m. March 1 in the Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
Eisenhuth attended the hearing Wednesday morning, surrounded by family and supporters. The family had no comment on the case.
Church initially was charged with three counts of terroristic threats — two felonies and a misdemeanor, according to court documents.
Point Township police later filed additional charges after officers searched his vehicle and allegedly found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. Church was charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Church’s bail was set at $126,000 on Wednesday, representing $125,000 in the threats case and $1,000 in the drug case. He remains in the Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury.
