Two sisters in fear as neighbor shoots dog

A 51-year-old Turbotville man has been jailed on reckless endangerment charges after shooting a 4-year-old family dog as two sisters turned their eyes away in disbelief Friday morning.

Olen F. Mast, of Gardner Road, was placed in Montour County Jail pending arraignment after firing a .22-caliber rifle twice at King, a mix between an elk hound and Chihuahua, at the home of Jacob James Hershberger, also of Gardner Road. The second shot struck the family pet, state police at Milton report.

Kennedy Airport, killing all 230 people aboard, including 16 students and five chaperones traveling to Europe from the Montoursville Area High School.
