Attorney may drop YouTube fugitive over bills

WILLIAMSPORT — The Shamokin man who eluded capture after he failed to meet with state probation officials is now dodging his attorney’s legal fees in a federal civil suit against Shamokin and a number of officials.

Attorney Franklin E. Kepner Jr. on Friday filed a motion in U.S. Middle District Court seeking permission to withdraw as counsel for Scott Binsack.

He claims Binsack, an inmate at Rockview State Prison, has run up considerable legal bills and made no attempt to pay them.

Through correspondence dated Wednesday, Binsack has told the Berwick lawyer he no longer wants his representation, the court document states.

Binsack, who taunted chasers while he was on the lam through YouTube, filed his lawsuit in November, the same day he was nabbed in Bath, N.Y.
