HARRISBURG — An office building near the Pennsylvania Capitol is reopening after a gas leak that forced the evacuation of hundreds of state workers.
Utility workers responding to a report of a gas leak responded to the North Office Building around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and about 400 workers were evacuated. Department of General Services spokesman Troy Thompson says no one got sick.
Commonwealth Avenue near the Capitol complex may be closed through the weekend as UGI crews work to repair the 16-inch gas main.
Thompson says the building is going to be open Thursday and that employees should report to work as scheduled.
