Lewisburg senior: Write me in to the Oval Office

LEWISBURG — Unbeknownst to patrons Friday at the Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University, a presidential candidate was in their midst. Usually there would be Secret Service detail assigned for his security, but as a write-in independent contender for U.S. president, Clair Moyer doesn’t qualify.

And the Lewisburg man didn’t seem concerned. Relaxed in blue jeans an a polo shirt and sipping Starbucks coffee, Moyer, 66, isn’t worried for his safety.

But he is worried for the nation’s future.

    MINEOLA, N.Y.  — Former investigators are pushing to reopen the probe into the 1996 crash of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of New York, saying new evidence points to the often-discounted theory that a missile strike may have downed the jumbo jet. The New York-to-Paris flight crashed July 17, 1996, just minutes after the jetliner took off from John F. Kennedy Airport, killing all 230 people aboard, including 16 students and five chaperones traveling to Europe from the Montoursville Area High School.
